Cameras have stopped being just cameras. Different lenses, filters, flashlights, battery cells, chargers and other accessories have all become adjuncts to them. This would accommodate one camera, up to three lenses, some accessories and films. A belt type bag will be more comfortable and will allow easy access to the camera and accessories.

It is also advisable that you choose two small or medium sized bags. One large bag is likely to be difficult to carry when fully loaded. It is also a good idea to have one of these as a backpack bag for the telephoto lenses. While dividers or partitions are advisable, ensure that they are not of cardboard, which are not durable.

Inspect the quality of the material used so that you get good quality – preferably ballistic nylon or Dupont Cordura. You could also consider canvas and leather. If you choose the synthetic material, be sure that it is of a minimum 600-denier tenacity. (Denier indicates the strength and thickness of the material.) Zip fasteners must be open ended for easy access. When closed, they should offer a leak proof seam. The seams must be well stitched and sealed for keeping away moisture. They should be reinforced at the top and the bottom.

Compare prices by all means, but stay away from visually appealing but cheap bags - get value-for-money bags. With the above advice, you are now ready to have an enjoyable experience in choosing a bag for your Olympus camera and its accessories.
